- Overcoming Challenges with Innovation
- While the program has been highly successful, it does face several challenges:
Limited participation: Since it takes place during holidays, many students attend only if they are already on campus for internships or exams.
Strict routine adherence: Some students find it difficult to follow the rigorous daily schedule and request occasional breaks.
Financial constraints: Acquiring adequate funds for logistics, guest speakers, and prasadam preparation remains an ongoing challenge.
Finding trained mridanga and musical instrument players: While kirtans are an integral part of the program, sourcing skilled musicians can be difficult.
Kitchen and resource management: Ensuring a well-equipped kitchen and trained cooks remains a priority to provide nutritious meals for all participants.
Despite these hurdles, strong teamwork, dedicated volunteers, and strategic planning have allowed the program to continue successfully each year.
- A Legacy in the making
The Chaatra Rishi Program represents a pioneering effort in youth outreach, blending philosophical depth, practical service, and leadership training. Through structured learning, engaging kirtans, and real-world preaching opportunities, participants develop spiritual strength, clarity, and conviction.
As ISKCON continues to expand, initiatives like Chaatra Rishi serve as crucial training grounds for the future ambassadors of Mahaprabhu’s Sankirtana movement. With the right support and continued refinement, this program holds the potential to reshape the landscape of youth preaching, ensuring that Krishna consciousness flourishes for generations to come.
